Kraków.

City squares. Underground wonders.

Use Kraków as a base for Wieliczka Salt Mine, then leave time for the historic city streets. Give the guided underground visit a generous half-day and keep your arrival plans separate from the museum ticket.

Wieliczka Salt Mine day trip

Mine and travel

Our suggestion: half a day

Plan the sequence

Kraków in one or two days

Keep the mine visit and central Kraków at different paces. A fixed underground departure works best with flexible time on either side.

Half day

Plan around your mine departure

Book the guided visit, arrange transport to Wieliczka and leave time to find the meeting point. Return to Kraków without adding another tightly timed stop.

Plan your Wieliczka visit

Two days

Separate the city and the mine

Use one day for the Main Market Square and a relaxed walk through central Kraków. Reserve part of the second for Wieliczka, adding lunch and a flexible afternoon after the tour.

Winter or families

Leave room to change pace

Layer clothing for the outdoor journey and the milder underground environment. Consider the stairs and group walking pace before booking with young children or anyone who needs an adapted route.
