Venice.

Follow the water. Read the history.

Start with the palace beside St Mark’s Square, then leave room for the city between the landmarks.

Doge’s Palace

Our planning note

Keep palace and basilica admissions separate

Plan the sequence

Venice in one or two days

Build the day around any fixed Doge’s Palace entry, then keep the square and waterfront flexible. The palace and St Mark’s Basilica are separate attractions, so do not assume one booking covers both.

Visit order

Book the palace first

Use the confirmed palace time as your anchor, follow the voucher’s entrance or meeting-point instructions and explore the square or waterfront afterwards instead of stacking another timed admission next door.

Plan your Doge’s Palace visit

One or two days

Keep the first day focused

For one day, pair the palace with unhurried time around St Mark’s Square and the lagoon. With a second day, choose another area after checking its transport and admission details rather than adding an unverified bundle.

Rain or families

Use the palace as the indoor anchor

A palace visit can carry the wettest part of the day, but arrival and the waterfront still involve outdoor movement. Choose a few priority rooms, keep the route comfortable and leave the outdoor walk flexible.
