From a bold plan to a Dubai landmark
Construction began in 2004 and the tower was inaugurated on 4 January 2010. Its three-wing, Y-shaped plan is arranged around a central core, helping the building remain stable while opening wide views from inside.
The setbacks change as the tower rises, creating its tapered silhouette. The public observation experience is only one part of a mixed-use building that also contains residences, offices, a hotel and restaurants.
Why visit Burj Khalifa?
The visit is about scale and perspective. Levels 124 and 125 look across Downtown Dubai, the wider city and the desert horizon, while the journey up shows how the tower is presented as an engineering and design achievement.
Choose this experience if a skyline view matters more than a long museum visit. Visibility changes with weather, so a premium time does not guarantee a perfectly clear horizon.
Choose the observation level first
The standard option includes At the Top on Levels 124 and 125. The SKY option adds Level 148 and priority access, then continues to Levels 125 and 124. These are alternatives: you do not need both tickets.
Neither direct product below promises admission to Dubai Aquarium, a meal, the Level 152 lounge or hotel areas. Those require a different package that names the extra experience.
| Option | Includes | Know before booking |
|---|---|---|
| Levels 124 and 125 (opens in a new tab) | Timed admission to the At the Top observation decks on Levels 124 and 125. | Level 148, lounge access, food, a live guide and other Dubai Mall attractions are not listed as included. |
| Levels 124, 125 and SKY 148 (opens in a new tab) | Levels 124 and 125, SKY Level 148, priority elevator access, multimedia guide, viewing features and Wi-Fi. | Level 152 lounge access, a meal and admission to separate Dubai Mall attractions are not included in this option. |
Prices and choosing a time
Prices change with the date, time and deck. Select the same visit date on each product page before comparing the final total; sunset and other popular periods can cost more than quieter slots.
Pay for SKY only if the higher deck and priority access matter to your group. Read the cancellation terms and check that every visitor category is correct before paying.
Opening hours and timed entry
The Dubai Mall listing reviewed on 4 October 2026 shows At the Top open 09:00–23:00 on weekdays and 05:00–00:00 on weekends. Special dates and available ticket slots can differ, so use the date selector for your actual visit.
Arrive before the booked time and allow for the walk through the mall, ticket checks and security. A late slot leaves less flexibility if you also plan dinner or another timed attraction.
Entrance and transport
The public At the Top entrance is on the Lower Ground Floor of Dubai Mall. Follow signs inside the mall rather than walking to the tower’s hotel or residential entrances.
Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station is on the Metro Red Line. The station is connected to the mall area, but the walk to At the Top still takes time; build that indoor approach into your arrival plan.
What to notice on the decks
On Levels 124 and 125, use the viewing telescopes and outdoor terrace before moving on. Look down at the fountain area and across the dense Downtown skyline, then compare that city view with the open desert beyond it.
SKY Level 148 offers a higher and more exclusive deck before you continue to the lower observation levels. Do not rush downstairs immediately; the added height is the main reason to choose this ticket.
Practical tips before entering
Bring the booking confirmation and the identification requested by your supplier. Travel light: large luggage, shopping bags and strollers may need to be left in the designated storage area before the decks.
Outside food and drinks are not allowed on the observation decks. Keep children close, follow staff directions and leave a buffer after the visit because the exit route through Dubai Mall can also take time.
- Save the ticket before leaving your accommodation.
- Choose the deck before choosing the time.
- Allow extra walking time inside Dubai Mall.
- Keep another timed booking well after your expected finish.
How long should you allow?
Our suggestion is 90 minutes to two hours from check-in to exit for a comfortable first visit. The view itself may take less time, but queues, security, lifts and photographs add up.
If you choose SKY, give Level 148 its own unhurried time before exploring Levels 125 and 124. Add more margin when travelling with children or anyone who benefits from a slower pace.
Winter visiting tips
Winter can be a pleasant time to spend longer around Downtown Dubai, but popular holiday and sunset slots may be busy. Reserve the time you actually want and keep outdoor plans flexible if haze or wind reduces the view.
Bring a light layer for strong indoor air conditioning and for time outside after dark. If the skyline is the priority, check the day’s conditions before heading to the mall, while remembering that normal weather changes do not guarantee a refund.
Burj Khalifa ticket questions
Should I buy Levels 124–125 or the SKY 148 ticket?
Levels 124 and 125 provide the core At the Top visit. The SKY option described here adds Level 148 and priority elevator access, then continues to 125 and 124, so you do not need both tickets. Choose SKY if the higher deck and priority matter to you, rather than assuming a longer product name is essential.
Where is the Burj Khalifa observation-deck entrance?
At the Top starts on the Lower Ground Floor of Dubai Mall. Follow the mall signs instead of the tower’s hotel or residential entrances. Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station is on the Metro Red Line, but reaching the station is not the end of the journey: allow time for the indoor walk, ticket checks and security.
Does the higher-priced ticket include every Burj Khalifa experience?
No. The two observation products compared here do not include the Level 152 lounge, a meal or separate Dubai Mall attractions such as Dubai Aquarium. Their prices can vary by date, time and deck. Compare the same date and visitor categories, and remember that paying for a popular slot does not guarantee clear visibility.
