History
The original bridge was built in 1889 using hemp rope and cedar planks; wire cables followed in 1903. Later additions changed a short crossing into a broader forest visit: Treetops Adventure opened in 2004 and Cliffwalk in 2011. The different structures offer three perspectives on the same wooded canyon.
Why visit
Visit for the change of scale between the canyon crossing and the tree canopy. Walking slowly lets you notice the forest rather than treating the bridge as a single photograph. It is less suitable if swaying surfaces, exposed heights or restricted mobility make the main attractions uncomfortable. The bridge, Treetops Adventure and Cliffwalk are not wheelchair accessible.
Ticket options
The park-entry option below covers the main attractions in one visit, together with short English history or nature talks, seasonal entertainment and the complimentary downtown shuttle. These are parts of one park admission, not separate new experiences. Check the date and arrival window before paying; a British Columbia annual-pass upgrade is not included in this seller option.

Price and booking
Use the live Ticketory quote for your chosen date and visitor ages. No fixed price is quoted here because the final date-specific total matters more than a starting price. Include your transport plan in the comparison: the listed downtown shuttle is useful, while unrelated transport or purchases should not be assumed included. Read the cancellation conditions before confirming.
Opening hours
For 9 October–1 November 2026, the park lists 10:00–20:00, extended to 21:00 on 23–25 and 30 October–1 November. Hours change to 10:00–17:00 on 2–19 November. Canyon Lights runs 20 November 2026–10 January 2027, normally 11:00–21:00; the park is closed on 25 December. Recheck the calendar for your date rather than applying one season’s hours to another.
Getting there
The address is 3735 Capilano Road, North Vancouver. The complimentary shuttle serves downtown Vancouver; confirm the current pickup location and timetable before leaving. The operator estimates around 20 minutes from Canada Place in ordinary conditions, but traffic can add time. Arrive at the pickup early and leave flexibility for the return journey.
Highlights
Cross the suspension bridge, then make time for Treetops Adventure and the separate Cliffwalk route. The views are strongest when you pause and look into the canyon as well as across it. A short interpretive talk can add context to the structures and local forest; check the day’s programme after entering.
Practical tips
Wear shoes with a reliable grip and carry waterproof layers. Strollers and crutches cannot be taken onto the main attractions, so check the operator’s access guidance if anyone in your party needs them. Keep phones secure on the bridge and avoid stopping where people need to pass. Leashed dogs are allowed under the park’s rules; follow staff instructions throughout.
How long to allow
Allow two to three hours inside as a planning estimate, then add your shuttle journey and waiting time. Trying to fit the park into a short downtown gap tends to leave little time for the forest walks. If you also book Grouse Mountain, keep the journeys and separate admissions clear rather than assuming this ticket covers both.
Visiting in winter
Vancouver winter is often wet, and the forest can feel cooler than downtown. Use a waterproof outer layer, warm mid-layer and shoes suited to damp paths. Canyon Lights has specific seasonal dates, so choose a visit within that programme if the lights are your priority. Darkness changes the experience: leave time to see the canyon before dusk if daylight views matter.
