A short history

Completed in 2010, Marina Bay Sands was designed by Safdie Architects as an integrated waterfront district. Its three hotel towers are linked by an elevated SkyPark, making the rooftop an architectural feature as well as a viewpoint.

The wider development combines hotel accommodation with shopping, performance spaces, convention facilities and the ArtScience Museum. Seen together from the waterfront, the towers and their connecting rooftop help explain why this is an architecture stop as much as a skyline visit.

Why visit

Visit for perspective: spend time noticing the relationship between the water, the dense city blocks and the open spaces around the bay. It is most rewarding when you slow down and identify places you plan to explore later, rather than treating the lift ride as the whole experience.

The public deck is on Level 56, with a mezzanine reaching part of Level 57. The Infinity Pool is for hotel guests; an observation-deck ticket does not include it or direct entry to CÉ LA VI. If swimming or a rooftop restaurant is your main aim, deck admission will not meet that need.

Tickets and entry options

The daytime option below provides one admission to the observation deck and excludes the Infinity Pool. Its current visitor categories specify entry before 15:30. Follow the time on your selected option and final voucher; do not assume a later entry because the venue stays open in the evening.

Compare access before comparing prices. A daytime visit and an evening session suit different plans. Only the verified daytime product is linked below; evening access must be explicitly included in any alternative you choose.

Ticket prices

Select your date and visitor category on Ticketory to see the payable total. Check the final booking summary for the entry window, currency and cancellation terms before paying. A general starting price should not be treated as the price for every visitor or date.

If travelling as a family, make a list of everyone’s ages before selecting categories. Check any concession requirements against the people in your group and bring supporting identification where required. Our comparison does not assume that a discounted category is available to every traveller.

Opening hours

The regular non-peak session is 09:30–16:30, with last entry at 16:00. The peak session is 17:00–22:00, with last entry at 21:30. Your ticket can impose an earlier entry cutoff than the venue’s general schedule.

Dated notice: the deck is closed for a private event on 9 October 2026. On 10–11 October 2026, evening operation extends to 22:30, with last entry at 21:30. These exceptions do not extend the validity of a daytime ticket. Check the calendar for your actual visit date.

How to get there

Bayfront MRT serves Marina Bay Sands on the Circle and Downtown lines. Allow time to navigate through the resort: arriving at the station is not the same as reaching the observation-deck entrance.

Head for Hotel Tower 3 and the SkyPark entrance by its driveway. Keep your voucher ready, and follow the observation-deck signs rather than the hotel pool or restaurant signs. If arriving by taxi, specify the tower and attraction so that you do not start at the far end of the complex.

What to look for

Look for Gardens by the Bay, the waterfront and the distinctive Esplanade domes. The appeal is the relationship between these landmarks, not a checklist of distant buildings. Visibility changes with the weather.

Try making two sets of photographs: a broad view showing the shape of the bay, followed by a few tighter compositions of the places you recognise. To photograph Marina Bay Sands itself, add a separate ground-level waterfront stop; standing on the deck gives a different subject.

Practical tips

Travel light. Luggage, tripods and professional filming equipment cannot be taken onto the deck; outside food and drinks are also restricted. Bags may be searched, so leave time for entry checks and follow staff instructions.

Wear shoes and supervise children. Under-13s must be accompanied by an adult over 18. Entry depends on capacity, and buying ahead does not remove all waiting. Tickets allow a single entry, so organise your belongings before going up.

  • Save your voucher where you can retrieve it without relying on mobile reception.
  • Check the precise entry cutoff before choosing a lunch reservation.
  • Keep phones and loose items secure near exposed edges.

How much time to allow

Our planning suggestion is one to two hours including finding the entrance, admission checks and an unhurried look around. This is a suggested itinerary allowance, not a promise of an unrestricted stay or a fixed queue time.

A short city stop works best when you have one clear priority: a daytime panorama, architecture or photography. Leave a gap before your next booking so a slower arrival does not turn the visit into a rush. If your trip also includes Tokyo, compare the different deck choices in our Skytree guide.

Winter and wet-weather tips

Singapore remains warm and humid during the Northern Hemisphere’s winter. November to January is generally wetter, so pack for tropical rain rather than cold weather. That seasonal pattern is not a forecast for your visit day.

The deck is exposed, and heavy rain or lightning can interrupt access. Keep an indoor backup and follow staff directions. Before booking, read the seller’s weather and cancellation conditions; do not assume every shower automatically qualifies for a refund or free rescheduling.
