History
The museum built its identity around the art and design of the modern world. Painting and sculpture sit alongside other media, allowing visitors to follow artistic experimentation beyond a single material, movement or national tradition.
Why Visit
It suits visitors interested in how artists changed visual language and challenged familiar formats. A focused route with breaks is more rewarding than racing between the best-known works.
Tickets & Entry Options
The reviewed entry includes MoMA admission, special exhibitions and audio programmes on your own device. The seller also lists MoMA PS1 within fourteen days; confirm current validity and its separate opening calendar before planning that additional visit.
Ticket Price
Compare the final Ticketory price for the date, visitor category and exact option you select. Guided visits, admission-only products and combinations can have different inclusions and cancellation terms; check the full payable amount before booking.
Opening Hours
Use MoMA’s current date calendar and exhibition notices. Late openings and special programmes have their own conditions; MoMA PS1 does not share an identical daily schedule.
How to Get There
MoMA is on West 53rd Street in Midtown, near Fifth Avenue and several subway connections. Allow time to find the visitor entrance and check any bag arrangements.
Highlights
Modern painting and sculpture; design and other media; changing exhibitions; multiple ways to compare artistic experiments.
Tips
Bring headphones and a charged phone for the audio material. Check which works are actually on view and follow photography rules instead of assuming every room permits the same equipment.
Read the delivery and redemption instructions carefully: a payment receipt or booking confirmation may be different from the final entrance ticket or voucher required at the venue.
Average Time
Allow 2–3 hours for a selected route, longer for several exhibitions or detailed audio stops.
Winter Tips
An indoor museum visit works well in winter, but queues and the street approach remain outside. Check festive opening and leave time for coats before another timed reservation.
