Begin with Gyeongbokgung Palace, then leave time for the streets and markets of central Seoul. Choose a guided half-day when you want transport and several stops arranged together.
Use the palace as one anchor rather than trying to cover every central sight at once. These flexible suggestions leave room for walking, weather and confirmed tour times.
One day
Palace first, neighbourhood afterwards
Explore Gyeongbokgung in the morning, pause for lunch, then choose either Bukchon’s traditional streets or a market visit. Keep the afternoon flexible if you are visiting independently.
Use one day for Gyeongbokgung and nearby historic districts. Save a second day for a different side of Seoul, such as Namsan or the Han River, instead of stacking timed attractions.
Cold or rainy day
Shorten the outdoor route
The palace has broad open courtyards. In poor weather, choose a smaller set of halls, add an indoor museum stop only after checking its own hours, and keep warm-up breaks in the plan.
