History
Teotihuacán developed into one of ancient Mesoamerica’s largest cities, reaching its height in the first half of the first millennium CE. Its original name remains unknown.
The Avenue of the Dead, Sun and Moon pyramids, Temple of the Feathered Serpent and mural complexes reveal sophisticated planning and religious life. UNESCO listed the site in 1987.
Why Visit
The site’s scale cannot be understood from museum objects alone. Walking the avenue and observing monumental relationships provides essential context for central Mexican history.

Ticket Price
Use Ticketory’s dated checkout amount and inspect the exact inclusions before payment. Do not reuse an old published price, assume a concession, or treat optional extras as included.
Opening Hours
Follow the official dated calendar and the time on the voucher. Holiday, weather, maintenance and operational notices can override a general schedule, so recheck shortly before departure.
How to Get There
Independent entry requires arranging travel to the State of Mexico site. Transport variants leave from named Mexico City meeting points; check that transport is actually included before assuming a return ride.
Highlights
Expect the Avenue of the Dead, views of the Sun and Moon pyramids and accessible temple or mural areas. Climbing the pyramids is prohibited, despite older travel photographs.
Tips
Carry identification matching the booking, arrive early and keep the voucher available offline. Confirm accessibility and any dietary or mobility needs before payment rather than at the entrance.
Average Time
Spend three to four hours on site, plus substantial travel. Full-day variants with Guadalupe and Tlatelolco are a different schedule from entry only.
Winter Tips
Mexico’s dry-season winter can bring cool mornings, strong sun and dusty conditions. Carry layers, water, sun protection and secure footwear; shade is limited.
